Forest of Bowland National Landscape

The Forest of Bowland National Landscape is special because of its high heather moorland, rare bird species and distinctive settlements that reflect a long human history.

The Forest of Bowland National Landscape is excited to be involved in Nature Calling as it enables our neighbouring communities and residents to work with nationally known artists.

We believe that artists can excite and inspire more people to enjoy this protected landscape, many of whom will not have had the confidence or opportunity to do so. Our commissioned artists will be focusing on working with young people, exploring and interpreting their surroundings at home and into Bowland using words, sounds, textiles and film.

The Pendle HIll Landscape Partnership project delivered nature restoration as well as art commissions and citizen research into local radical thinkers.
